THE VILLA

Entryway with black door, black sideboard, framed picture, chandelier, and decorative items.

The House

Four queen bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, and a rockpool under the jacarandas.

Villa Rose was built around 1900 in Federation sandstone, and it has the proportions to prove it — wide hallway, high ceilings, rooms that hold light. It has been renovated for how people actually stay now, without stripping out what made it worth keeping.

Natural light comes through plantation shutters. French doors open from the main living space onto the rear lawn and the pool. The kitchen looks over all of it.

It sleeps eight across four bedrooms, which makes it a genuine alternative to booking half a hotel floor — and considerably better company.

Bedroom with a bed, nightstand, lamp, and vase of flowers. Tray with two coffee mugs, a magazine, and cookies on a blanket.
Interior of a modern home with a wooden dining table, a white wall with a built-in fireplace, and a sitting area with a gray sofa and a side table with decor and flowers.
Kitchen with beige tiled backsplash, white cabinets, a black stove, a stainless steel kettle, a blue container, and a corner with green plants in vases on a wooden tray.
A backyard with a swimming pool, surrounded by greenery and a tall metal fence. There are two black and white striped umbrellas, a white gazebo with a bench inside, and a stone pathway beside the pool.

Four queen bedrooms

All four bedrooms run along a single hallway, each with a queen bed and flax linen. The master has its own marble ensuite. There is no sofa bed and no bunk room — every guest gets a proper bedroom and a proper bed.

A portable cot, high chair, and children's toys and books are available on request.

Living

Room to spread out.

The main living area runs to the kitchen and out through French doors to the garden. There's a gas fireplace for winter and ducted heating and cooling throughout. The television is large, the sound system is surround, and four streaming services are already logged in.

There's a study nook and NBN broadband, if someone has to work.

Kitchen

Built for eight.

A SMEG oven, gas cooktop, dishwasher, island bench and a dry pantry. Everything you need to cook a real dinner for the whole house, and enough bench space to do it without queuing.

Outside: a Weber and an outdoor dining setting, which is where most groups end up.

Pool & Garden

The Rockpool.

The pool and spa sit in a private rear garden, with umbrellas, outdoor furniture and lawn. Pool toys are available on request. The front garden is secure and separate — useful if you've brought small children.

The Pool is heated and can be turned on by guests on arrival.
